DESCRIPTION:Advance notice: Keep the Date\nThe NZ Family Court Specialist Psychological Group are opening the second day of their Wellington based conference up to other professionals who also work with children and families within the Family Court. \nEvent Flyer \nRegistration Form \nConvenors Kate Burke\, Sarah Calvert\, Justine Croxen and Kath Orr write: \nWe are bringing world class experts in key areas of our work to New Zealand for this conference and as a result we are making Day 2 of the conference (Friday 3 May 2024) available to other professionals who also work with children and families within the Family Court. This is advanced notice so you and others who might like to come for the day can diary the date and indicate interest (which we need for venue booking\, catering etc). Please let others know about this exciting event. \nPresenters on 3 May\nProfessor Michael Saini\, Factor-Inwentash Professor at University of Toronto: Professor Saini is a well-known researcher in post-parental separation child care and state-intervention with children and young people. His current research interest lies in considering the science of false polarization effects in family law and the efforts towards depolarization He is also president-elect of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC). Professor Saini will do two presentations plus a question and answer session. Read bio \nProfessor Saini has also offered to make himself available outside of the Conference\, he will be here about a week\, for discussions\, other meetings – whatever will enhance the work of Family Court professionals. \nProfessor Bruce Smyth\, Australian National University\, Canberra: Professor Smythe is a well-known researcher in family and social policy with recent research explorations of parental hatred\, use of technology and apps in parenting and child sexual abuse. Read bio \nSteven Bradley\, Safety and Technology Expert\, Our Family Wizard expert in the of the uses and abuses of technology: Steven is an expert in how technology generated information (texts\, emails\, video clips) can be manipulated\, and the harm that technology can do when family violence is an issue (stalking for example). \nThe Conference will be held in Wellington and there will be a fee for attendance. \nPlease let us know if you would like to receive updates about the Conference.
