Consultation on Proposed Annual Practising Certificate, Disciplinary Levy and Other Fees for 2027/28
Consultation Released: Thursday 5 November 2026
Consultation Closes: Thursday 3 December 2026
Thank you to the practitioners who have already paid the additional disciplinary levy. More than half have paid ahead of the 5 November payment date, the Board is grateful for your support and understanding.
The Board is now consulting on its proposed annual practising certificate (APC) fee, disciplinary levy and other regulatory fees for the 2027/28 practising year, which starts on 1 April 2027. The Board also proposes a new fee for examinations required under section 19(5) of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003.
Proposing an increase in fees is never a decision the Board takes lightly. We recognise that fee increases are difficult at any time, and particularly so in the current environment. This is especially so after the additional disciplinary levy in 2026/27. The consultation document explains why the Board is proposing these changes. It covers the Board’s financial position, the rise in disciplinary activity and cost, and the Board’s commitment to prudent, transparent budgeting.
We would value your views. Please read the consultation document and send your feedback to by 3 December 2026. Every submission will be considered before the Board makes its final decisions. Thank you for your continued engagement with the Board.
Ngā mihi nui,
