Consultation on Proposed Changes to Other Fees for 2026/27

This consultation is now closed.

Thank you to those who provided feedback on the Board’s consultation on proposed changes to fees other than Annual Practising Certificates (APC). Submissions were supportive of the Board’s proposal to move these fees to a full cost-recovery model, reflecting the actual cost of delivering regulatory functions and improving transparency and fairness.

The Board has approved the final 2026/27 “Other Fees’ schedule as consulted. APC fees and levies were not part of this review.

A short summary of consultation feedback is available HERE and the updated fees will take effect following publications in the New Zealand Gazette.

The Board is consulting on proposed changes to a range of functions other than the Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

These include registration, scope of practice applications, programme accreditation, and related functions.

Following a review of costs, the Board is proposing to move to 100% cost recovery to ensure fees fairly reflect the actual time and resources to deliver each function.

Most proposed changes are modest, with larger adjustments limited to complex or resource-intensive areas such as overseas registration, vocational scope applications, and accreditation reviews.

Practitioners and stakeholders are invited to provide feedback by Friday 5 December 2025.

Full details and a summary of the proposed fee changes are available on the Board’s website.
