Important update on APC disciplinary levy

Please find attached a letter outlining the Board’s decision to introduce a one-off additional disciplinary levy for the 2026/27 APC year.

As outlined in the letter, the Board has faced a significant and unexpected rise in disciplinary-related activity and associated legal costs.

Unfortunately, this means that an additional levy is required to ensure we can continue to meet our statutory responsibilities and maintain disciplinary reserves at a safe level.

We appreciate that this comes at a challenging time and may place extra pressure on practitioners. Please know that this decision was not made lightly, and the Board remains focused on prudent financial management and transparency in its processes.
