Psychologists (Disciplinary Levy) Notice 2026
Pursuant to sections 130–133 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, the following notice is given.
Notice
1. Title and Commencement
(1) This notice may be cited as the Psychologists (Disciplinary Levy) Notice 2026.
(2) This notice comes into force on 5 February 2026.
2. Interpretation
In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires, practising year means the period of 12 months beginning on 1 April 2026 and ending on 31 March 2027.
3. Tax
The fees specified in this notice are inclusive of goods and services tax.
4. Disciplinary Levy
The New Zealand Psychologists Board sets a disciplinary levy payable to the Board in accordance with this notice.
5. Amount of Levy
The amount of the disciplinary levy is $80.00.
6. Tax
Goods and services tax is payable in addition to the disciplinary levy.
7. Persons Required to Pay Levy
The disciplinary levy is payable by every psychologist who applies for, or holds, an annual practising certificate for the relevant practising year.
8. Time When Levy Payable
The disciplinary levy is payable at the time of application for the issue or renewal of an annual practising certificate.
9. Application of Levy
The disciplinary levy must be applied solely for the purposes of funding the Board’s disciplinary and related statutory functions, including but not limited to competence, conduct, fitness to practise, and tribunal-related costs.
10. No Refund
The disciplinary levy is non-refundable, including where an application for an annual practising certificate is declined or withdrawn.
11. Revocation
This notice revokes all previous Psychologists (Disciplinary Levy) Notices.
